about

Exploring the outer realms of hallucinogenic atmospheres and rhythm, sensory deprivation researcher and ambient artist Michael Sickinger returns as Deep Space Research. Featuring remixes by acid house duo Hardfloor and Autonomic pioneer ASC, and co-production from Icelandic artist Ruxpin.

Originally planning to follow in the foot steps of Dr. Richard Evans Schultes in the search for psychoactive medicinal plants in the Amazon, Michael Sickinger took an unexpected turn into the research of sensory deprivation tanks and their altered effect on consciousness at the suggestion of author Terence McKenna.

During the initial stages of tank research, Michael Sickinger was inspired by the sounds of Brian Eno and began releasing ambient and acid house records using analogue modular systems in 1990.

Through the 1990s and into the present, Michael Sickinger has worked with some of the world's most respected artists and continues his research into sensory deprivation.
